Reviving Earthquake Affected Schools
In the recent context of post-earthquake relief support in school, CESON Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kasetstart University Initiative Bangkok, Thailand on May 29, 2015 to support two schools one each in Sindhupalnchowk and Dolakha for ensuring educational access and the Right to Education for Nepali children who have been greatly suffered by the massive earthquakes. These two districts are among the most affected by the 2015 earthquakes. CESON also raised fund from other various resources to support four schools in Sindhupalchok and one school in Dolakaha Districts. The support to schools included construction of temporary classrooms (roofed with corrugated zinc sheets) and distribution of educational and recreational materials. Mahesh NathParajuli, Meenakshi Dahal, and Bishal Bhandari coordinated with different national and international individuals/organizations to mobilize the fund.
Illiteracy on HRD In SAARC Region
CESON has collaborated to Institute for Research Advocacy and Development (IRADA) to carryout impact of literacy on human resource development in the SAARC Region. The objective of this research is to review the relevant policies and programs to combat illiteracy, to examine detriments of literacy with respects to HRD in various set up across the region, and devise strategies to improve the scenario of the region.
